About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in fuel cell systems to contribute to the design,
development, and optimisation of direct ammonia fuel cell systems. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the advancement of our fuel cell technology, ensuring its reliability, efficiency, and overall
performance. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and collaborate with external
stakeholders to bring our fuel cell systems to the market.


• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for fuel cell applications, including stack design, balance of plant components, and thermal management systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the performance, durability, and
manufacturability of fuel cell mechanical designs.
• Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid
Dynamics (CFD) tools to optimise mechanical designs.
• Prototype, build, and test mechanical components and systems, providing validation and verification of
design performance.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements and emerging technologies in fuel cell mechanical
engineering, and actively contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.


Essential Knowledge/ Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in the design, development, and optimisation of fuel cell systems, preferably in a

commercial setting.

• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and analysis.

• Strong knowledge of fuel cell stack components, balance of plant systems, and associated manufacturing processes.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and

external partners.

Desirable Knowledge/ Qualifications

• A PhD in fuel cells or electrochemistry

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to fuel cell systems (e.g., ISO 14687, SAE J2600, ASTM F3101).

• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Passion for clean energy technologies and a commitment to sustainable development.
