About the Role

As a Senior Design Engineer specialising in fuel cells, you will play a crucial role in leading the testing and
validation activities of our fuel cell systems. You will be responsible for developing and implementing
comprehensive testing strategies, ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of our products. This role requires extensive knowledge of fuel cell technology, 3D design of novel efficient fuel cell systems, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of fuel cell systems, including stack design, balance of plant
components, and system integration.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the performance, efficiency, and
reliability of fuel cell systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Utilize advanced design tools, simulations, and modelling techniques to optimise system performance.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance, conduct root cause analyses, and
implement corrective actions.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements and emerging technologies in fuel cell systems and actively
contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.

Requirements

Essential Knowledge/ Qualifications


• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years’ experience in the design and development of fuel cell systems, preferably within the

automotive, transportation, or renewable energy industry.

• Proficiency in engineering design tools and software (e.g., CAD, FEA, CFD).

• Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical issues and

develop innovative solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.


Desirable Knowledge/ Qualifications


• PhD degree in chemical, mechanical or energy storage is desirable.

• Passion for clean energy technologies and a commitment to sustainability

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and mentor a team.

• Knowledge of additive manufacturing (i.e. metal 3D printing)
